How do I start to volunteer?
Working, learning and discovering together
There are so many benefits to volunteering – health & fitness, meeting new people, learning new skills and having fun along the way!
On our project page we have a range of volunteer activities that are all based at the Devilbend Natural Features Reserve for you to get involved in and no prior experience is needed.
Before you can volunteer with us, simply register with ParkConnect and create your own volunteer profile. Below are the steps involved that you’ll need to be take before you can begin attending any activities.
We are here to help, so if you have any trouble following the steps for registering or just have a question, feel free to contact us.
1: Registering as a volunteer
Simply navigate to the ParkConnect portal, once there, click on ‘Register with ParkConnect” on the sign in page, enter your preferred email address, create a password, confirm your password, click “Register”.
The next step will be to fill out your volunteer profile. Once complete, you will be prompted to confirm your email address. *Note if you can’t find the confirmation email in your in box, check in your promotions or spam folder.
Once you have confirmed your email, the next step is to add your Working with Children accreditation or any other skills that you feel could be beneficial.
2: Working with children

To Register, click “Register Working With Children”
3: Join daangeans Activities
Once you are registered with ParkConnect and have your Working With Children’s Check, you can now join our activities.
All of our activities are listed on our group profile on ParkConnect. Simply click on the “Group Activities” button below. Then simply search our page for upcoming activities and click “Join activity” on the ones you’d like to attend. Please note you must be logged into your ParkConnect account to join an activity.
You can attend our activities without joining The Citizen Science Crew at Daangean group, however if you plan on coming to more then one activity, then it’s best if you do. Joining us is simple, just log into your ParkConnect account, navigate to “The The Citizen Science Crew at Daangean” profile page and click “Join group”.
